It was on August 17,
1941, that KBWD first went on the air. From that first day of broadcasting
through this our 15th year, it has been our constant endeavor to be of the
greatest possible service to the community. Our first thought is to
provide good, clean wholesome entertainment for our listeners; to bring
interesting, helpful, educational programs, to broadcast up-to-the-minute
news, sports, and on-the-spot reports of local, state, national, and
international events.
We are
not unmindful of the fact that, in order to provide such service to the
people of KBWD-land, we must provide a valuable advertising medium; one
that deserves and receives acceptance from those who need and use
our facilities. This we strive to do.
In
order to render the best possible broadcast service both to listeners and
advertisers, it has been our constant endeavor to improve our program
service, or physical plant, and our broadcasting facilities. This we
have done continuously throughout the past 15 ears, as rapidly and as
often as our means would permit.
In a
progressive manner, KBWD has brought to Central Texas the vas program
resources of the Mutual Broadcasting System.
