Biography for Stanley Richardson

I was born and raised in Brownwood, Texas. I went to all 12 grades of school in Brownwood, starting at South Ward, then Junior High and High School. After graduation in 1957, I attended Howard Payne for 1 year, lived at home and worked part time at Higginbotham Lumber. In Sept., 1959, I started Howard Payne, but gave it up in Oct. and joined the U.S. Navy. After 9 weeks of boot camp, I came home on leave in Dec.  Ric Wilkins fixed me up with a "blind date", who was the "Love of My Life" and my future wife!

I spent 4 years in the Navy, was married to Glenda, the "Love of My Life" in April, 1962. Most of my Navy time was spent in Hawaii, aboard destroyers as a radioman. Glenda was able to come over to Hawaii for my last year, before I was discharged in Oct. 1963. I went to work at Bailey Radio and TV in Brownwood, and after that I worked at a few other jobs around Brownwood.

We then moved to Mineral Wells and worked in a TV shop there for a year, met my future partner in business, where we moved back to Brownwood. We started B & R TV on Coggin Ave, where we were for 25 years. After that, I worked at Winn Dixie for 4 years, then retired. I had prostate cancer surgery 5 years ago, but am now still cancer free, thank the Lord!!

Glenda and I have a daughter and son. We have 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Glenda and I live at North Lake Brownwood with our beloved Chihuahua, Chico! Glenda and I will be married 45 years in April, and are just as much in love now as then, we are always together and cannot keep our hands off each other!!  What a wonderful life we have had !
