Biography for Peggy Reynolds Penn

I married Calbert “Cal” Penn on May 27, 1957 in Brownwood , Texas .  We have lived in Sweetwater since 1973.

Penn and I are still working.  I started out as a JC Penny window designer, turned telephone operator, turned Hays Co. Sheriff Deputy.  My deputy days ended when we welcomed our third little angel.  Later, I found myself working for an office supply company here in Sweetwater, which led to my own office supply company.  16 years ago, I began working for Sweetwater Housing Authority.  I am a state certified housing manager and no plan to retire as of yet.  I have been a member of ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) for 25 years.

Penn is currently a police officer for TSTC-Sweetwater.  He has been in law enforcement since 1961.  He began his law enforcement career in Brownwood as a police officer for the city then as a sheriff’s deputy.  He then began working for Sante Fe railroad as a Special Agent Texas Ranger.  He was the first police officer certified as a Texas Ranger for the railroad. He retired from Sante Fe railroad after 18 years of service.

We have three children.  Our oldest: Cal was born in 1957.  He lives in Odessa with his wife Janetta.  He has worked for Central Freight for 18 years.  He has two stepchildren.

Kimberly was born in 1962.  She lives in Sweetwater and has a three year old son, Jacob.  Prior to bringing us our little bundle of joy, Kim worked with Jason and Trisha and also ran Circle M Heavy Haul Trucking Co.  Now, Kim has a most important job: stay-at-home-mommy to Jacob.

Jason was born in 1971.  He lives in Sweetwater with his wife, Trisha.  Jason and Trish have their own business:  Lone Star Pilot Car Service and has been in business for the last 5 ½ years.  In addition to running a successful business, Jason also works as a site coordinator at various Wind Energy projects.  Prior to having their own business, Jason worked for Sweetwater Police Department as a Communications Officer and Trisha is a LVN.  Trisha is currently going back to college to finish her degree in nursing and obtain her RN license.

We have always felt blessed with our lives.  We have a very strong family and look forward to watching it grow even more.  This year, as we count our many blessings, we not only celebrate our 50th class reunion, Penn and I celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary as well!!
