Biography for Inez Pittman Williams

As a graduation gift my brother sent me an airplane ticket to visit him in Maryland. I stayed there for a month and drove back with him and his family.

I entered Shannon School of Nursing in San Angelo. I trained at Shannon Hospital and too classes at San Angelo Jr. College. Dear old B.H.S. didn’t prepare me for in class themes written with no misspelled words. I lacked a half point making a passing grade.

I moved to Dallas where my brother lived. I was working for Baylor Hospital when I met and married Herbert Art Williams, a plasterer. We lived in several towns before buying a home in Mesquite, Texas in 1963.

We had three children, Eva born in 1960, Art Jr. born in 1961 and Gary born in 1963.

I worked at Hartford Insurance Company for 11 years as a Rating and Coding Supervisor.

I have four grandchildren, Dale Amshaff born in 1980, Summer Amstaff born in 1982, Elizabeth Williams and Jonathan Williams.

My husband and I got a divorce in 1993. I moved in with my youngest son Gary. We traveled a lot. We went to the Grand Canyon, California, Utah, Colorado, New Orleans, Mississippi, Maryland, Connecticut and Georgia.

From there my life went downhill. My son was killed in a car wreck in 1992.

I have diabetes, congestive heart failure and Kidney failure. I go to dialysis 3 times a week.

Linda Traylor Chism got in touch with me. I was glad to hear from her and several classmates. I went to the two gatherings in 2004 and enjoyed seeing everyone.

In January 2005 I had to have surgery to have my right leg amputated, due to infection.

I now live in Mesquite Tree Nursing Home where I receive therapy to learn to get around with one leg.

I hope to see more of you at our 50th reunion in 2007.

Love and God bless all.

Inez
