Biography for Davis Shellabarger

After graduating high school, I joined the USAF April 1, 1959 .  I figured that I could get advanced education there.  I was selected for electronics training in Digital Data Processing and went to Keesler AFB in Biloxi , Ms for training.  After completing a 52 week course, I was among a group selected to remain at Keesler as instructors.  I taught advanced courses in Data Processing until my discharge on December 31, 1963 .

After being discharged, I was hired by IBM in New Orleans in Feb 1964.  I worked in N.O. until July of 1985 when I moved to the Dallas area, still with IBM.  I retired from IBM in Sept.1996 after 32 years with the company.

While at Keesler, I met Doris Clark, a Registered Nurse, who was working at the V.A. Hospital on the Gulf Coast .  We were married in June of 1964 and our daughter, Dianne, was born in 1966.  She completed her Bachelors and Masters at University of North Texas after we moved to Flower Mound, Tx.  She then started teaching Special Behavior children and is still teaching in the same school.   Meanwhile she married Tom Fox and we have three grandsons, ages 8, 10, and 13.
